Mark & Anne Vause' dream came true early in 2008 when they moved to take over Elm House Guest House Pooley Bridge, Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The Lake District made a deep impression on Mark & Anne from many childhood holidays in the area. This impression was cemented when Anne's parents and brother took over Granny Dowbekins Tearooms also in Pooley Bridge in year 2000. After deciding to strikeout and make a lifestyle change from Blackburn, Lancs; it took 1 ½ years of searching to eventually find Elm House as being the perfect place to work and bring up their son Joseph. From the very first day of moving in Mark & Anne started to put their plans and ideas for Elm House in to place and by Easter they opened two brand new en-suite bedrooms both with solid oak furniture, beautiful décor and modern bathrooms. Mark and Anne will continue to provide excellent accommodation with food of the highest standard and aim to enjoy and live in Pooley Bridge for many years to come, they welcome and invite customers old and new to come along and experience this beautiful location in their warm and friendly home.
